Meet The Team

Welcome to the Table

Healing & Renewal

We create safe, supportive spaces where individuals and families can explore mindfulness, meditation, and reflective practices such as silent retreats. Through sound healing, Reiki, guided reflection, and community circles, participants are supported in developing emotional resilience, self-awareness, and personal transformation.

Education & Life Skills

Our programs teach practical and meaningful skills for all ages — from cooking, food preservation, and gardening to survival skills, sustainability, and critical thinking. Each class empowers participants to live more consciously, build resilience, and strengthen their connection to community and the natural world.

Retreats & Gatherings

On our 11 acres in Glenwood, Iowa, we are building a sanctuary of earth-sheltered structures, nature trails, and fire circles. Retreats offer rest, reflection, and renewal — with full-cost and pay-it-forward options so all can attend.

Sustainability & Service

We believe in caring for both people and the earth. Through workshops on sustainable living, repurposed goods, and community initiatives, we encourage responsible stewardship of resources. Proceeds from books, handmade goods, and events are reinvested directly into programs that support our mission and community.

Our Story

Our Story

Black Butterfly Temple began with a simple truth: healing is not meant to be done alone.

It was founded by three women who each carry a different piece of the work — Staci, a curriculum designer and culinary educator with over 20 years in education. Tracy, a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and sound healer with 25 years in healthcare. Emily, a Master Reiki Practitioner with over 11 years in energy healing and shamanic practice.

The nonprofit came first. Then came the land.

Eleven acres in Glenwood, Iowa. Three tiers. A pond. A fire circle. A vision for a campus where people come to remember who they are — earth-sheltered structures built into the hillside, a teaching kitchen, a sound bath studio, a ceremonial space.

The vision is clear. The land is real. The funding is what we're building now.

We are in the earliest stage of something that will outlast all of us — applying for grants, building community, and asking people who believe in this kind of work to help us break ground. Black Butterfly Circles are meeting weekly. Our ebooks and curriculum are live. The rest is coming.

But none of it moves without resources.

If you found us here, at the beginning, before the buildings exist and before anyone can point to what we've built — that's not an accident. Early believers are how anything real gets started.

This is your moment to be one of them.
